Alyssa Desjarlais RMT

Hello! I am Alyssa Desjarlais RMT. I am a graduate of Wellington College of Remedial Massage Therapy, Winnipeg, Manitoba in June 2023. Like most high school graduates, I had no idea what I wanted to do career-wise. I enjoyed my first two years after graduation doing Biblical studies at Millar College of the Bible in Pambrun, SK. There I decided that I wanted to do Massage Therapy.

In fall of 2020, I began one of the most challenging journey for all students. It was the beginning of the pandemic that had challenged all schools to move to remote learning, especially for massage therapy. It is a hands-on focus that benefits greatly with an in-person instructor guiding and showing one how to treat clients. The college have done very well to follow constant changing covid rules. With a reduce course load in my second and third year, I have graduated in June 2023.

I moved to Regina July 2023 to live closer to my (at-the-time) boyfriend and worked full-time as a Massage Therapist in Regina since. I married my sweetheart in July 2024.

I never had a massage before going to college so, I can not say it influenced me at all do to massage therapy. I started loving it when I started doing it and my passion continues to grow to this day. I enjoyed my second and third year the most when I learned to treat musculoskeletal dysfunctions.

I believe God gave me these hands to help people. I give him all the credits for my abilities.

I do aim to start my own business whether that is in my home or my own clinic with colleagues, either way I hope to place the name: “Desjarlais, Remedial Massage Therapy” on the wall.
