First Time Visit
For your first massage a 60 or 75 mins therapeutic massage is recommended for adequate time for the therapist to complete their consultation thoroughly and determine the appropriate treatment plan for you.
Treatment can always be cut short anytime you feel uncomfortable. Please communicate with your therapist and ask any questions about any concerns you may have.
90mins may be too overwhelming for some clients. Consult with your therapist first to be sure it is good idea to book a longer treatment time. There are factors to consider.
DO NOT book a massage the same day before a moderate-high intensity physical activity like a sport or workout. Massage will reduce your muscle tone and can cause instability in the joints which will increase the risks of injury.
Swedish/Relaxation Massage
Swedish Massage uses smooth and light techniques to put your mental being into a state of relaxation without the deep pressure and painful trigger points. You can calm your active mind through the stimulation of the nervous system and reduce your muscle tone, stress, and promote circulation.
Non Insurable
Therapeutic Massage
This is the most popular choice. Every therapeutic massage is different for everyone.
Very common for maintenance massage to get rid of stubborn adhesions (knots),
or speed the healing process of an acute/subacute injury, flare ups, recent surgery
or want to feel muscle relief without feeling beat up, but not too light where no relief is provided.
Depending on the individual’s case, treatment may involve ice, cupping, heat, specific muscle treatment and going through home care exercise for healing recovery.
Deep Tissue
Deep Tissue and Therapeutic massage are very similar. It does not always mean deep pressure but, affects/treats the deeper layers of muscles and tissue that wouldn’t get treated in a general relaxation massage. It is highly recommended to achieve the goal of realigning the skeletal structure so that one may return to their daily lifestyle and enjoying activities as pain-free as possible.
Hot Stone Massage
If you love the heat, you will love the hot stones! With the heat desensitizing the tissue, you will be able to handle more pressure without pain and enter a state of relaxation quickly.
45mins is recommended if you want only upper/lower body massage. 60-90mins is sufficient time for full body.
Be sure to hydrate yourself really well especially after treatment. More than 3 cups is recommended.
Myofascial Cupping Therapy
Cupping will not get rid of your muscle knots, at least not directly.
Fascia are connective tissue covering everything in your body, including your organs, bones, muscles and ligaments. Fascia has a contractile component and can develop adhesions like muscles can, but responds to pressure differently.
With tissue already so compressed, the suction of the cup helps seperate the layers of tissue promoting circulation in the area. Most common areas for relief are, shoulders, low back/sacrum and outer thigh.
If you never had cupping before, consult with your therapist to be sure this treatment is right for you. Many clients may benefit more from a regular massage rather than cupping.
Prenatal Massage
Pregnancy can exacerbate low back pain or other symptoms. Don’t let pregnancy be an excuse for your pain. Treatment will aim to make you and your baby more comfortable by decreasing pain, increase room for your baby and your lungs for better breathing, and more.
